At Ritsumori, we believe that all learning involves not just working on assigned tasks, but also discovering and finding solutions to problems on your own. This is why we emphasize inquiry-based learning across all areas of school life from junior to senior high school. We also take inquiry-based learning a step further by encouraging students to identify social issues and actively engage in activities that will create real change in society.

Our school has two aims in science education. The first is to equip students with the skills to develop scientific reasoning and the ability to think from multiple perspectives through inquiry-based learning activities. The second aim focuses on helping students acquire the ability to identify problems on their own and learn independently through the process of planning experiments and designing research itself. This ensures that students will have the skills to engage in logical discussions and creative thinking, regardless of whether they pursue a path in the humanities or sciences in the future.

Our school’s global education goes beyond simply developing proficiency in English. We strive to develop “global professionals” who can bring the skills and knowledge gained in the classroom to the world stage and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds to support each other’s growth. To this end, we offer a range of opportunities for students to challenge themselves both inside and outside school to develop not only practical skills and proficiency in English, but also problem-solving skills and the ability to work with others.

Personalized learning
and two devices per student

At Ritsumori, we have started to develop personalized learning experiences that utilize AI-based teaching resources. As a result, learning can be tailored to each student’s proficiency level, which makes it easier to efficiently facilitate improvement in areas of difficulty and master concepts.

We have created a “2:1” environment for Grade 10 students that provides them with access to two devices: a tablet and laptop. Our goal is to help students achieve proficiency in IT skills in high school through the use of both tablets and laptops.
