High School Sci-Tech Club RoboCup Junior World Championship Overall winner!

2025.1.8

The second-year high school team ‘Edge’ (Kotaro Watanabe, Yuta Nakagawa and Ryosuke Aoki) from the Information Technology Group of the school’s Sci-tech Department won the first prize at the RoboCup Junior Japan Open 2024 Nagoya in March, and qualified for the world competition in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, Two members of the team, Mr. Watanabe and Mr. Nakagawa, competed in the World Championships in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.

Although they were troubled by the different match environment from Japan and other problems, they responded by programming on the spot to cover them.  They were also able to actively engage in technical exchanges with teams from other countries.  They also did well in their presentations and in presenting their research findings in interviews.  The team made it to the final tournament and achieved the team’s goal of winning the overall world championship.  Specifically, the team won the following awards.

・Individual Team 1st Place (1st place in the overall world ranking)

・1st place in the world competition standings

・Super Team 1st Place

The team also won the Exemplary Team Award for winning the overall world championship.  We received a great deal of support from our parents and other related parties in this competition.  We would also like to thank the school’s student council and educational promotion association for their support.

That moment when they raised the trophy on the podium was an important moment that they will never forget again.  They now want to pass on the joy of this competition to the next generation by organizing events using robots at cultural festivals and lectures for primary school children to experience about football robots, just as they themselves discovered the joy of this competition and were supported by many people to win the World Championships. We look forward to your continued support.
